Passport Application FOR CHILDREN ONLY(PERSONS UNDER 18 YEARS)

This is an application form for Children

Pursuant to section 27(1) of the Kenya Citizenship and Immigration Act 2011 as read with section 12 of the Kenya Citizenship and Immigration Regulation 2012, legal notice No. 64, all applicants are required to complete Form 19 (Fillable online) as the Kenya Passport application form set out in the first schedule of the Regulations.

You can apply for, renew or replace your passport and pay for it online. You can pay using mobile money, Credit and Debit Cards. You will have to print out a form at the end. You must sign and date the form, add any documents or photographs that are needed, and return it for processing.

How long does it take to get a passport?

It should take atleast 15 working days to get your first passport once your form has been physically submitted at the Immigration offices. For all other application types, it should take atleast 5 working days.

It can take longer if more information is needed or your application has not been filled out correctly. All Passport applications should now be made via www.ecitizen.go.ke. Manual applications will NOT be accepted.

Steps of application

  1. Read the instructions carefully then fill the application form.
  2. Select the mode of payment and pay for the passport fees.
  3. Download and print the application form and two copies of the application Invoice(Receipt).
  4. Submit the application form in person to the Immigration offices. ( Nyayo house, Mombasa & Kisumu.)

During the submission you need the following:

  1. Applicants MUST appear in person for digital photo capture.
  2. A downloaded and printed passport application form
  3. One Government and One customer copy of the payment receipt
  4. Original birth certificate and photocopy.
  5. Original National ID Card & copy.
  6. Three Current passport size photos.
  7. Recommenders ID Card copy.
  8. Old passport for replacement plus copies of last three pages.
  9. Parents National ID cards copies or Death Certificate if deceased.
  10. For Lost case a Sworn affidavit and a police abstract are required
  11. For Lost cases and Mutilated cases an explanation letter is required to explain the circumstances of the loss or mutilation
  12. Concent letter from Parent or Guardian

Ensure you are using your eCitizen account to apply for your own passport. Applications applied on behalf of others will be rejected
During submission you must come with original documents and photocopies of the same.
Do not book travel until you have a valid passport – doing so is at your own risk.
