# Kenya:1st Governors per county under the New Constitution 2010

The new constitution of Kenya was promulgated on August 27, 2010, which introduced a new system of government with the creation of 47 counties, each led by a governor. Here are the names of the first governors of the 47 counties of Kenya under the new constitution:

2. Joshua Irungu - Laikipia County
3. Isaac Ruto - Bomet County
4. Jack Ranguma - Kisumu County
5. Samuel Ragwa - Tharaka-Nithi County
6. Ali Hassan Joho - Mombasa County
7. William Kabogo Gitau - Kiambu County
8. Jackton Tonui - West Pokot County
9. Samuel Ole Tunai - Narok County
