The Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) has officially announced its nationwide recruitment exercise scheduled to take place in October 2025. This is an excellent opportunity for qualified Kenyans who are passionate about serving their country in various capacities within the military.
📢 Available Positions
The recruitment exercise will cover the following categories:
- General Service Officer (GSO) Cadet – Regular
- General Service Officer (GSO) Cadet – Graduate
- Specialist Officers
- General Duty Recruits
- Tradesmen and Tradeswomen
- Defence Forces Constables
📝 Eligibility and Requirements
🧾 Basic Eligibility
- Must be a Kenyan citizen with a valid National Identity Card (ID).
- Present the original and four (4) copies each of the following documents:
- National ID
- KRA PIN Certificate
- Academic Certificates (KCSE, Diploma, Degree, etc.)
🎂 Age Requirements
- GSO Cadets: 18 – 26 years
- Specialist Officers & Tradesmen/Women: Not above 30 years
- Chaplains/Imams: Not above 39 years
🎓 Professional Requirements
- Candidates must have relevant academic qualifications in their field.
- A minimum of two (2) years of professional experience is required.
- Qualifications must be verified by the respective regulatory body.
🏃 Physical & Health Requirements

| Men | 1.60m (5ft 3in) | 54.55 kg |
| Women | 1.52m (5ft) | 50 kg |
- Body Mass Index (BMI) should be below 30.
- Candidates must not have major scars or tattoos.
- Must be physically and medically fit for military training.
⚠️ Other Conditions
- Must have a clean criminal record.
- Female candidates must not be pregnant during recruitment and training.
- All candidates must be ready to undergo rigorous military training.
